Palestinian resistance pre 1948

@shado.mag

Let’s talk about Palestinians being engaged in anti-colonial resistance to the Zionist settlement before the Nakba in 1948. In this collab with Makan, a charity strengthening Palestinian Rights, Sara gives us a short history lesson on Palestinian resistance during the Arab Revolt of 1936-1939. In Ghassan Kanafani’s analysis of the revolt he wrote that “by the time of the Nakba the conditions were ripe to harvest the fruit of the 1936 revolution’s defeat”. He describes the Nakba as “only an epilogue to a long and bloody chapter”. The Zioinist leader put it that “for the Zionist colonisation to succeed they needed the protection of another colonial power that could provide an iron wall between the native population and the Zionist movement”. Cue – Britain. Follow to watch the series! Is there anything else you want us to break down? #Shadomag #palestine #arabrevolt #arabhistory #palestinianhistory #zionism #nakba #decolonisehistory #decolonisation #bds #radicalhistory #GhassanKanafani
