How has your lived experience shaped your practice?

Growing up as a Chinese-Swedish female has given me a unique perspective that deeply informs my work as a 3D designer. My upbringing was a blend of two rich and distinct cultures, which taught me to appreciate diversity and look at the world from multiple viewpoints. This multicultural background has driven me to create designs that are not only visually appealing but also culturally inclusive and meaningful. My work often reflects a fusion of Eastern and Western aesthetics, aiming to bridge gaps and celebrate the beauty of cultural intersections. Additionally, having lived in both urban and rural settings in Sweden has given me a deep appreciation for nature and minimalism, which often manifest in my design choices.

What are some of your biggest influences and motivations in your work? What issues are you passionate about working on?

My work is deeply influenced by the idea of creating a tender and soft digital global language and aesthetic. Growing up between two culturally rich backgrounds, I have always been fascinated by the ways in which design can transcend linguistic and cultural barriers to communicate universally. My goal is to craft visuals that speak to a global audience, using the subtlety and nuance that can evoke emotions and connections beyond words.

My motivation lies in the pursuit of creating designs that foster a sense of global unity and understanding. I am passionate about working on issues related to cultural preservation and digital inclusivity. By incorporating elements from different cultures into my designs, I aim to create a visual language that is inclusive and accessible, celebrating diversity while promoting a sense of global interconnectedness.

Where are you based and what excites you about the creative community around you?

I am currently based in London, which I consider the mecca for 3D designers. London is a vibrant and dynamic city that thrives on creativity and innovation, making it an incredibly exciting place to be as a 3D designer. The city’s rich cultural diversity and its status as a global hub for art, technology, and design provide endless opportunities for inspiration and collaboration.

What excites me most about the creative community in London is its sheer diversity and the openness to new ideas. The city attracts talents from all over the world, creating a melting pot of styles, perspectives, and experiences. This multicultural environment fosters a spirit of innovation and pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved in 3D design.
