Zainab is an award-winning journalist and campaign organiser with a focus on climate justice and labour rights. Since 2019, she has been campaigning and creating educational resources on the harmful environmental and human impacts of the fashion industry alongside writing for award-winning publications like gal-dem and The Guardian, and leading on communications at NGOs.
Her campaigning experience ranges from hosting digital action fora and planning disruptive action, to designing and delivering workshops on effective organising; planning a national demonstration as part of a coalition; and founding grassroots campaigns.
In 2023 she founded Ahista Stories under which she single-handedly curated London’s first ever South Asian sustainable fashion festival. She continues to curate culturally relevant events tackling Big Fashion and celebrating South Asian heritage crafts for London’s South Asian community.
