I describe my work as 'Observational Landscape photography', I've always felt that my projects straddle multiple genres. I use traditional landscape photography methods through the use of slow and careful composition with medium format film cameras. However unlike most landscape photographers I am always aiming to include a human based element. Sometimes this comes in the form of human-altered landscapes or a physical representation of people interacting within the landscape. The aim of my photography is often to explore the relationship of the landscape and the people who inhabit it. This process has led me to shoot in many sorts of locations varying from rural England, Industrious South Wales, the 'Edgelands' of Manchester, Hong Kong, Shanghai a& Beijing. I am now working on more portrait series with a focus on social issues and community projects.
