Born and raised in Saint Martin, Lisandro Suriel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Photography at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and received his Masters of Art by research in Artistic Research at the University of Amsterdam. Suriel’s work has been published worldwide and featured in numerous exhibitions such as Atlantic World Art Fair, Photo Basel, and Noorderlicht among others. In 2021 he was the recipient of the Photo Vogue/Sudio RM Prize at the 6th edition of Photo Vogue Festival in Milan: Reframing History. His work has also been featured on the cover of FOAM Magazine #58 Talent issue, as well as acquisitioned into the city permanent collection of Glasgow Museums. Notably, Lisandro Suriel has been listed as a friend and partner of Art+Activism by Human Rights Watch for his ongoing project Ghost Island. This fall, Suriel’s works will be featured at New York Indie Shorts Awards, Unseen Photography Fair Amsterdam, and Singapore International Photography Festival.
